Dragon Model's 1995 1/35th scale Sd.Kfz. 184 Elefant --- Bernie started
by priming the assembled kit with Vallejo grey primer followed by
Vallejo German Dark Yellow. A coat of Krylon gloss crystal clear was
applied before adding Verlinden dry
decal transfers. The decals were hit with a coat of Krylon flat clear
followed by chipping with Vallejo Magnesium and Dark Yellow.
Tamiya panel line accent color black
was used sparingly to accent hatches and rivets. The tracks were primed in
Vallejo black primer and then painted with a Vallejo Gunmetal and Rust mixture. Next came a light dry brushing with Vallejo Steel. Finally, Mig Europe Earth was used to dust the vehicle. Bernie added a small scratch built wooden stowage shelf, a tool box (generic resin), and oil can on the skirt. The wooden box is balsa painted with Vallejo Concrete and Golden Brown with a touch of brown to make the balsa look more realistic.
