Sherman M4A3 by Chan Jackson

Chan's  M4A3 was built from a combination of Tamiya and Dragon parts and had languished as a shelf queen for quite some time. He finished it in this vignette primarily to try out Tamiya's line of textured groundwork paints and snow.

Korean War M4A3E8 by Terry McKeown

Terry was impressed with how well the Tamiya M4A3E8 went together.  The fit on the kit was perfect and he was able to knock off the construction over a weekend. The tracks are well done and the new 50 caliber machine gun is an improvement over the gun that came with older Tamiya Shermans as are the crew.  He finished the vehicle with Tamiya acrylics and weathered it with pigments.

M4A1 Sherman by Terry McKeown

Terry pulled this 1/35th Dragon M4A1 "shelf queen" off the shelf and finished it with stowage from Value Gear and Tamiya; painted and weathered it with Tamiya paints and added Academy 50 cal machines. His only complaint about the kit was doing the indy link tracks.

 

Sherman by Terry McKeown

Terry built this Tamiya (reboxed Tasca) Sherman and added Value Gear sandbags and stowage, an aluminum gun barrel from his stash, logs made from wooden dowels, and placed it on a Tiger Works base. It was painted with Tamiya paints. The kit had over 800 parts and the suspension was an especially "fiddly" assembly according to Terry.

 

Marine M4A3 Sherman by Jim Mesko

Jim built this Marine Corps Iwo Jima M4A3 from a DML M4A3 hull and M4A2 turret and DML DS tracks primed with polycarbonate paint. The PSP matting is from Tom's Model Works and rests on volcanic ash. The water tank is scratch built and the sand bags are Skoal tobacco pouches emptied, refilled with fine sand and soaked in a white glue-water solution. Bison Decals were used. Three Marine division emblems are mounted on the base.

 

 

M4A1 Sherman by Terry McKeown

Terry combined the Eduard re-boxing of the 1/35th scale Tasca M4A1 Sherman with Value Gear stowage and a MiniArt base to create this display.

Tasca Sherman by Terry McKeown

Terry combined the Tasca M4A3/76 wet stowage Sherman with a MiniArt base (which he finished in a day) to create this diorama. The Sherman was dressed up with applique armor from the Dragon "M4A3E8 Thunderbolt VII" kit, 50 cal. machine gun from Tasca, 30 cal. from Academy, and stowage from Value Gear. The diorama is a work-in-progress as figures remain to be painted and added.

"The Rescue" A Diorama by Chan Jackson

A child's teddy bear is rescued by friendly GI's.  The vehicle is a Tamiya M-4 with an Academy M1 dozer blade.

 

 

 

 

 

 

M4A3 Sherman by John Shimek

John super detailed the Dragon 1/72nd M4A3 Sherman to represent a USMC vehicle used on Iwo Jima. I think you will agree that his attention to detail in this small scale is truly amazing.

The details he added include:
                                           140 track extenders fashioned from Plastistruct
                                           46 sandbags from mini-Chicklets
                                           Hull side slats from balsa wood
                                           68 scale rivets
                                           79 spikes on turret roof
                                           Scratch built wading exhaust
   The model was painted with Model Master enamels and weathered with oil washes
