Marine Corps Korean War M-26 by John Shimek

John does a masterful job with the Pegasus 1/72nd scale M-26 kit.  He added .30 cal and .50 cal ammo boxes with brackets on top of the fenders, finished the model with  Model Master enamels and used oil washes for weathering. The model represents a vehicle used in the Pusan Perimeter.

M4A3 Sherman by John Shimek

John super detailed the Dragon 1/72nd M4A3 Sherman to represent a USMC vehicle used on Iwo Jima. I think you will agree that his attention to detail in this small scale is truly amazing.

The details he added include:
140 track extenders fashioned from Plastistruct
                                           46 sandbags from mini-Chicklets
Hull side slats from balsa wood
                                           68 scale rivets
                                           79 spikes on turret roof
                                           Scratch built wading exhaust
The model was painted with Model Master enamels and weathered with oil washes

Milicast 1/76th M-18 Hellcat Build by John Shimek

John's resin 1/76th scale Milicast M-18 Hellcat was given the complete treatment including interior lighting with LED white nano filament. John dressed up the kit by adding wire guards around the main gun and on the turret roof, steering levers and linkages, driver's console and the exterior antenna. He was forced to fabricate a new gun mantlet since the kit part was missing. An Aber metal 76mm gun barrel replaced the kit barrel. The light in the crew compartment is wired to a 3 volt battery holder and switch. The model was finished with Model Master paints and AK Interactive washes. Just looking at the tiny details incorporated in this model makes your eyes ache.
