"Farewell to Heroes" Diorama by Chan Jackson

Chan added Tamiya's M4A3E8 turret to their M4A3 hull to create this Sherman. He painted it with paints from Tamiya and the AK Olive Drab set. The base is  a VLS product while the building corner is from an "unknown" source. 

 

The figures are from VLS Warrior, New World Miniatures, and Parcell. The Jeep ambulance is Italeri's.

 

Sherman M4A3 by Chan Jackson

Chan's  M4A3 was built from a combination of Tamiya and Dragon parts and had languished as a shelf queen for quite some time. He finished it in this vignette primarily to try out Tamiya's line of textured groundwork paints and snow.

Marine M4A3 Sherman by Jim Mesko

Jim built this Marine Corps Iwo Jima M4A3 from a DML M4A3 hull and M4A2 turret and DML DS tracks primed with polycarbonate paint. The PSP matting is from Tom's Model Works and rests on volcanic ash. The water tank is scratch built and the sand bags are Skoal tobacco pouches emptied, refilled with fine sand and soaked in a white glue-water solution. Bison Decals were used. Three Marine division emblems are mounted on the base.

 

 

M4A3 Sherman by John Shimek

John super detailed the Dragon 1/72nd M4A3 Sherman to represent a USMC vehicle used on Iwo Jima. I think you will agree that his attention to detail in this small scale is truly amazing.

The details he added include:
                                           140 track extenders fashioned from Plastistruct
                                           46 sandbags from mini-Chicklets
                                           Hull side slats from balsa wood
                                           68 scale rivets
                                           79 spikes on turret roof
                                           Scratch built wading exhaust
   The model was painted with Model Master enamels and weathered with oil washes
