French CGV Armored Car by Chan Jackson

Chan built this CGV armored car from a JMGT resin kit. The  Charon, Giradot, & Voigt Model 1906 Armored Car, also referred to as the "Nakashidze-Charron" Armored Car,  is considered to be one of the first modern armored car designs.  It featured full body armor, revolving turret, self-sealing disc wheels and unditching/bridging troughs.  Approximately sixteen vehicles were eventually built throughout the early part of the 20th century, with small improvements being made along its production run. Most of the vehicles were bought by Russia, with a few built later for France, which served in the early days of World War One in an "anti-balloon" role.  However, the most interesting service history of the CGV is by Germany; who commandeered two vehicles being delivered to Russia.  These vehicles were evaluated and used during the German Army maneuvers of 1909, but no further use is reported by them.  Chan says it was an easy build; the figure is from Stalingrad Models.
